MS4 coordinator reports 41 outfalls inventoried; data added to GIS for easier review

The Whiteland MS4 coordinator told the Stormwater Management Board that Aqua Terra completed an outfall inventory covering the town's 41 outfalls and that the consultant's reports have been attached to each outfall point in the town's GIS so staff and board members can view individual findings.

"We have we have 41 outfalls," the coordinator said, and added, "I put all the data on our GIS. So each outfall on my GIS, I stuck that report on that point. So that way, if we click on outfall 1, outfall 1 pops up, and it shows what he looked at." The coordinator also said the plan is to add prior inventories to the map so the data set is consolidated.

In the monthly inspection summary the coordinator reported five rainfall events over 0.5 inches in June and multiple routine site inspections. The coordinator described recurring problems tied to trash at construction sites and said they have asked contractors to increase dumpster pick-up frequency and contractor oversight. She said contractors have engaged subcontractors and the town has asked environmental subcontractors (cited as Earthworks and Valor) to respond quickly when silt fence or pond erosion problems are reported.

The coordinator described recent post-construction repairs: Lot 9's east pond was reseeded and stabilized after bank erosion, and work at Saddlebrook South ponds was recently completed in coordination with Paul Carnes and the HOA. The coordinator said she is tracking those repairs in the GIS.

Aqua Terra's outfall inventory work was described as a consulting fee in the packet; the coordinator identified the consultant as Aqua Terra and a principal contact, Randy Jones.

No board policy changes or new permit conditions were adopted during the briefing; the report was accepted for information.
