Council tables Eversource request to install conduit on South Street until DPW review

Councilors asked whether DPW had reviewed the plan and noted that a DPW letter normally accompanies street-work requests; the letter was later found to exist but had not been attached to the backup materials posted to the council portal.
Council response and vote: Several councilors said the request should not be decided without the routine DPW review. The council moved to table the item until June 17 so the missing background could be added; the motion passed on a roll call vote and will return with DPW comments and the complete backup.
What remains: The item was not approved or denied; the council held no substantive policy debate on the merits of the conduit placement at the meeting and will consider the full backup when the matter returns.
