One specific item discussed in detail was installing accordion partition gates in the field house restrooms to reduce the number of stalls custodians must clean during small events; staff explained each circular restroom would require two gates to provide reduced but complete access to sinks and fixtures during school days and after-hours events.
At the meeting a committee member moved to forward the site changes and shed item to the full board; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. Later the committee also moved and approved forwarding the monthly maintenance request package for board consideration. For both forwardings the committee used voice votes; no roll-call tallies were recorded on the transcript.
Staff noted that because the dollar amount for the site/shed item exceeded what the Facilities Committee is authorized to approve, the committee was sending the item to the full board for formal approval. The committee agreed to bring any follow-up cost details and vendor quotes to the board meeting.
