Maddie McAllister, a City of Orange City staff member, announced that Veterans Memorial Park at 476 South Felicia Avenue is a 2.3-acre, fully fenced park with a quarter-mile exercise trail made from 100% recycled materials and an ADA-compliant playground.
The announcement explained the park also includes new fitness stations along the trail, shaded pavilions with grills and electrical outlets, and benches and picnic space for visitors. “Whether you're here to get moving or just to unwind, this park's got you covered,” McAllister said.
McAllister introduced the remarks as part of the City’s “Walk in the Park Wednesday” series; she invited residents to join weekly features through the month of July. The announcement gave the park’s street location as the corner of South Felicia Avenue and East Blue Springs Avenue.
The remarks were promotional in nature and did not include any formal actions, budget items or policy changes. No funding sources, maintenance schedules or future capital projects were discussed or specified during the announcement.
