At the Mahwah Township Public School District Board of Education meeting, board members recognized district retirees, praised student achievements, and heard a teacher highlight the high school’s woodshop program and two students’ multi-year projects.
A speaker identified as a teacher said, “we do definitely have 1 of the best and most capable wood shops of any public high school in the state,” and thanked building administrators — Mr. Pascal, Mr. Danoli, Mr. McCabe, Mr. Galliotta and Mr. Jarvis — for supporting a fourth-year woodworking option and for helping students complete their projects. The teacher described the projects as two-year efforts completed in limited weekly shop time and thanked parents for supporting work that continued at home.
The board also recognized retirees, including a staff member identified as Debbie and Mr. Teddy Lusney. The transcript states Teddy Lusney served 28 years supporting school operations and is now retiring. Members congratulated student athletes for spring-season achievements and noted 18 Mahwah High School students who served as poll workers, with special thanks to Miss Fogarty for coordinating their participation. One board speaker explained that board certification requires 16 professional-development credits over a four-year period and congratulated the board for achieving that credential.
The remarks were ceremonial recognitions and did not include policy actions; the transcript excerpts do not show votes related to these honors.
