The Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved Resolution 25-25 to amend the fiscal year 2025 general fund budget to recognize a donation from Lowe's Home Improvement B2B program and appropriate the funds to the Bartlett Police Department for purchase of "stop sticks," a tire-deflation device used to end high-speed pursuits.
Mr. Phoebus, director of finance, told the Board, "Lowe's Home Improvement has made a donation to the Bartlett Police Department of $5,111. And these funds have been designated for, stop sticks, which is a tire deflation device that could end high speed pursuits quickly and safety safely for the Bartlett Police Department." Earlier in the meeting the resolution was read into the record as recognizing a $55,111 cash donation; the finance director's spoken amount differed from the amount read aloud in the agenda item.
Following a motion and second, the resolution carried unanimously. The amendment recognizes the donation and appropriates the designated funds to the police department; no other details about procurement timing or vendor selection for the devices were discussed at the meeting.
