Council approves $357,716 ARPA contract for Lofts Creek hydrology study phase 2
Summary
The council authorized a Phase 2 hydrology and geotechnical study for Lofts Creek, funded by ARPA, to refine storm-event modeling in an area that drains to karst sinkholes and to align hydrology findings with a master plan for Pallet Park.

The City Council authorized the mayor to execute an agreement with Geosyntec Consultants Inc. for professional engineering services for the Lofts Creek Hydrology Phase 2 study in an amount not to exceed $357,716.40, funded with American Rescue Plan Act money.
Director Clabo said the first phase was a high-level analysis of storm events and volumes and that the second phase will conduct geotechnical work to study karst topography and better relate hydrology to future master planning for the Pallet Park. "As most of you know, this area is, it really drains to a sinkhole, so there's no outlet," he said, explaining why detailed study is necessary.
The council approved the contract on a voice vote; staff said the refined analysis will inform design decisions for park planning and any stormwater interventions required by the area—s drainage characteristics.
No vote tallies were specified in the record.
