Foster said the request essentially would let customers purchase non‑cannabis, prepackaged consumables alongside cannabis products, not prepared foods.
After brief questions about health‑safety oversight and business licensing, the board instructed staff to treat the item as moving to the next process step. Chair staff recorded a committee of two—Member Tom and Adam Foster—to prepare a short written summary and analysis and present it at the board’s October meeting. The board confirmed packet deadlines (materials due to staff by Sept. 18 for the Oct. 6 meeting).
Member Robin Noble said she opposed changing the status quo without more information about implications; Vice Chair Brian Keegan, Member Foster and Tom voted to advance the suggestion. Kristen (staff) clarified that food‑safety and other non‑cannabis licensing requirements remain applicable and would be part of any future ordinance or administrative review.
No ordinance changes have been proposed yet; the committee will prepare analysis and suggested language (if any) and return to the board for public review and a vote at the later meeting.
