Robbinsville to expand AVID, world languages and offer AP dual‑enrollment with TCNJ

Robbinsville Public Schools told the board that curricular expansion is a priority in the 2025–26 school year even as the district tightens its operating budget.
Assistant Superintendent Doctor Wisniewski described three central initiatives: expansion of AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) into the high school cohort, adding world language instruction at Pond Road Middle School and Sharon Elementary School, and a memorandum of understanding with The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) to permit dual enrollment credit for AP courses offered at Robbinsville High School.
Under the dual‑enrollment arrangement, students in AP courses will be able to apply to TCNJ and, for a nominal per‑course fee, earn college credits while taking the AP curriculum in high school. District staff said the partnership complements the AP exam option and may improve credit portability for students who later attend New Jersey public colleges.
Doctor Wisniewski also said the district will continue existing curricular assessment tools (I‑Ready, LinkIt/Atlas) and use classroom walk‑throughs and diagnostics to measure effectiveness of the new initiatives. The administration indicated it will publish implementation details and monitor cohorts to measure achievement gains over time.
