Robbinsville Public Schools told the board on April 28 that a multi‑year state preschool expansion program will add classrooms and revenue to the district and is a core component of the 2025–26 budget.
Assistant Superintendent Doctor Wisniewski and Superintendent Doctor Pizzo described the initiative as one of the administration’s main accomplishments. The district expects to operate 18 preschool classrooms next year and to serve roughly 270 students in the free preschool program; administrators said current registration is nearly full and that preschool aid substantially increases the district’s revenue base for next year.
Doctor Wisniewski said the district has received several tranches of preschool expansion aid over recent years, and next year’s allocation will allow the district to add staff and offset operating costs by more than $750,000 compared with the prior baseline. The administration characterized preschool expansion as both a student‑service priority and a partial mitigation against the district’s operating shortfall.
Administrators asked the public to review an upcoming preschool program presentation planned for June; they said details and registration information would be posted to the district website. The board noted that preschool enrollment dynamics affect staffing and class‑size calculations across the elementary schools and asked the administration to track capacity closely as the fall schedule is finalized.
