Health committee approves MatrixCare, Clipboard Health agreements for McLean County nursing home

The McLean County Health Committee on its July meeting approved two agreements intended to improve the county nursing home’s billing and staffing operations.
Committee members voted to authorize an add-on agreement with MatrixCare to assist with collections and to clean up historical receivables in the county nursing home’s electronic health records, and separately approved an agreement with Clipboard Health to provide more affordable temporary staffing.
Mr. Wyler, representing the nursing home, told the committee the MatrixCare add-on will “help us not only with collections, but more importantly to clean up what has been there for the last several years to help us, differentiate what actually has been owed us and what is actually just bookkeeping that needs to get cleaned up.” He said the county already uses MatrixCare for electronic health records and receivables and expects the vendor to provide significant help because it is the software company.
The motion to approve the MatrixCare agreement was offered by Member Hansen and seconded by Member Bell; the committee recorded the motion as passing. The transcript records unanimous voiced approval with no opposition noted.
On the staffing agreement, Director Weillie described Clipboard Health as a “much more affordable, is better price pointed” staffing option that provides information about individual candidates’ attendance records. Weillie said the county is “working hard to eliminate agency staffing utilization,” which was reported as down to 2% for the month of May, and called Clipboard a “good fit” for temporary needs. The motion to approve the Clipboard Health agreement was made by Member Farley and seconded by Member Hansen and passed on a voice vote.
Mr. Wyler also updated the committee on construction at the nursing home, saying the facility is “in the waiting phase right now looking for IDPH to come out and recommission the wing that was just worked on. So we've submitted the paperwork.” The committee did not take separate action on the construction update; the remark was presented as an operational update.
The committee’s consent agenda earlier in the meeting included a recommendation of bills and transfers to the county board in the amount of $743,539.18. The Health Committee’s next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 5, at 4:00 p.m.
