District staff said they coordinate among transportation, building principals and homeschool liaisons to ensure students are brought to school and screened before reentry when needed.
District staff present described operational steps used during reentry checks, including a 15-minute cleaning window for affected areas and protocols for what cleaning measures are ‘‘permissible’’ versus ‘‘effective.’’ A staff member who attended the meeting to outline procedures walked the board through the step‑by‑step process for implementation in each building.
Board members also asked whether the district has a designated school physician. Staff replied the district contracts with Oswego Health as its service provider and consultant; a nurse practitioner currently consults with physicians there and serves as the district’s day-to-day clinical contact.
Board members said they wanted assurance that reentry steps are consistent across buildings and requested that the policy and operational checklist reflect those steps. Staff said the procedures described at the meeting inform the forthcoming finalized policy and that, when ready, implementation will not require multiple days of delay: once a student is cleared through the described checks, they may return to school promptly.
The board approved the policies under consideration after the discussion; the meeting record shows the relevant motions passed by unanimous roll call.
