The Bothell Arts Commission met jointly with the City Council on July 8 to present progress under the city’s 2020 Community Cultural Plan, summarize recent grant and gallery activity and discuss next steps to expand public art, community programming and funding.
Arts Commission chair Marybeth Turk and staff liaison Janae (Danae) McGee reviewed the commission’s program of work, including a City Hall gallery exhibit series, an ARPA‑funded creative arts grant program, a public-art walking tour and new ideas such as artist meet‑and‑greets, a “free little art gallery” display case and temporary public art for Lot E/F/G and Main Street. The commission reported it awarded 14 projects in 2023–24 and counted more than 20,000 visitors to supported events.
