District leaders told the board July 9 that construction at the new Cuyahoga Falls campus is advancing and that staff will bring a change order to the board for review.
Superintendent Dr. Salicco said she visited the new campus and praised the work but also identified finish‑and‑landscape items she wants clarified. “It was so much progress ... I was just in awe,” she said, and added she will raise a set of specific finish‑and‑landscape questions at an upcoming construction meeting. Salicco told members a “large” change order will be coming to the board and that her facilities team and the architect will provide line‑item detail for board consideration.
Treasurer/CFO Ms. Stowboy summarized year‑end balances and said the district ended the fiscal year with roughly $3.3 million overall cash on hand, with the majority in capital/construction funds. She noted capital balances are declining as projects conclude and that some limited‑use LFI accounts were recently closed. Stowboy said the district will provide a more detailed appropriation presentation at the August 6 meeting and will present any time‑sensitive change order on the July 23 special meeting agenda if needed.
The superintendent and construction staff also confirmed a tentative district grand‑opening date for the new campus on Dec. 6; time to be announced. Board members asked staff to coordinate possible short site visits for board members before formal tours are scheduled and to provide more detail on any change‑order requests before a final board action.
Ending: Staff will present a detailed change‑order package and updated appropriation information to the board at an upcoming meeting; a formal vote will be scheduled if the change order requires board approval.
