Southborough committee to seek funding for solid fence and signage after neighbor complaints about wayward golf balls and roadside neglect

The Town of Southborough Golf Course Committee decided to pursue funding for a solid fence behind the third green through the fourth tee after neighbors reported repeated property damage from wayward golf balls and difficulties walking along nearby roads because of overgrown vegetation.

The decision followed extended public comment from residents, including Gail, who described overgrowth and poison ivy along Lattesquarma Road and urged clearer responsibility for maintenance. “I started with the DPW a number of years ago because the poison ivy was so rampant,” Gail said. A homeowner behind the third green, who asked not to be named at the meeting, described repeated damage to windows, a garage door and a vehicle and urged stronger protection or compensation from the golf operation. “My property is continually being damaged,” the resident said.
