"We did get some surveys out. We got an okay response, but we wanted to now go back to some of the people that said they were using it for work and get a little more information," staff said. The committee directed staff to present the survey findings in the August meeting.
On fares, staff said agency rates and monthly caps are under review because revenue has dropped since the $4 daily cap and the city needs to align some rates with peer agencies. Staff said cash fares remain unchanged but agency rates were identified as "pretty low" and will be part of a September discussion on fare structure and monthly caps.
Staff also reported ongoing preliminary traffic counts at the Congress and High intersection; early counts suggest a preponderance of right‑turn traffic but staff will respecify counters and reexamine past studies before recommending lane or signal changes. Finally, staff noted the Winnebago County board recently voted to allow some ATV/UTV access on county roads, and that topic may return to the committee for discussion at a future meeting.
No formal committee action was recorded on these information items; staff will return with prepared reports and recommendations in August and September.
