County chairman signs 9-1-1 interlocal after board requested signature; tower upgrade ordering to start in August

Cowlitz County public works staff told commissioners the county and the regional 9-1-1 authority finalized an interlocal agreement to upgrade tower equipment, and that the chairman needed to sign the county side for the procurement process to proceed.

"A few months, I believe, 6, 8 weeks ago, we came to you guys to talk about, interlocal agreement between the county and 9 1 1 to do some tower equipment upgrade in the tune of about a $123,000 was the county's portion of about a $2,000,000 project for 9 1 1," Public Services Director Mike Moss told the board. Moss said the 9-1-1 executive director had already signed the authority’s side in June and that the county chairman could sign the county’s portion so staff could start ordering equipment.

Moss told the board the county’s share would be ordered in August and installed later in the year once the chairman signed. The transcript records the chairman signed the interlocal after the meeting.
