The Chehalis City Council on June 23 approved Resolution No. 11‑2025, setting a public hearing date to consider adoption of the Lewis County multi‑jurisdictional hazard mitigation plan and the Community Wildfire Protection Plan.
The resolution was included on the consent calendar, which the council approved by voice vote. City staff reading the agenda described Resolution No. 11‑2025 as “a resolution of the city of Chehalis Washington setting a public hearing date for a discussion for authorizing the adoption of the Lewis County multi‑jurisdictional hazard mitigation plan and community wildfire protection plan.”
When a councilmember asked how the public could obtain information about the hearing, staff directed residents to the Community Development department and said notices will go to media and the city website.
The consent calendar also included minutes of the June 9 regular meeting, vouchers and transfers with accounts payable of $1,362,102.23, and Resolution No. 10‑2025 declaring surplus property. The transcript records the consent calendar as approved with no recorded opposition.
What’s next: The city will publish hearing notices; the transcript does not record a hearing date or the specific materials to be considered. Residents seeking details were told to contact Community Development.
