La Conner's Town Council adopted the 2025 development regulations update after a public hearing, accepting updates intended to align local regulations with the newly adopted comprehensive plan.

Michael (town staff) explained that the regulations were drafted in conjunction with the comprehensive-plan update to ensure consistency. He said the bulk of the amendments were prompted by state growth-management requirements and that additional amendments would be brought later in the year.

Council members pointed out a formatting issue in the packet (a paragraph flow between pages) that staff acknowledged and said would be corrected. No public speakers raised objections during the hearing; the council closed the public hearing and voted to adopt the ordinance amending development regulations.

The ordinance adoption was approved by motion and voice vote; the transcript records the motion, a second and "Aye" responses in favor. Staff said more targeted amendments are expected in subsequent agenda cycles to refine standards and incorporate additional guidance from the comprehensive-plan work.

Town staff will publish the amended code and correct the packet's typographical/formatting error identified during the meeting.
