City attorney’s office reports 873 criminal filings by eight-person team last year

Polly Pestas, an attorney in the City Prosecuting Attorney's Office, said the office's four attorneys and four staff filed 873 criminal cases last year, including cases involving driving under the influence, domestic violence and theft.
Pestas said the office provides representation for the city in criminal matters, contested civil infractions and code enforcement, and also prosecutes misdemeanor cases and “works closely with our police department.”
The information came during a short city news segment; Pestas described the office’s mission as “to achieve justice in every case and ultimately help keep our community safe.”
