The City Commission approved Resolution No. 4192 June 2 to award $20,000 in Tax Increment Financing (TIF) funds to a downtown insurance business to support exterior work, including landscaping and facade improvements.
Staff said the business is expanding its building and adding offices; the TIF board recommended approving the $20,000 grant because the proposed facade and landscaping work benefits the downtown area. Commissioners noted the project aligns with typical TIF program goals to support downtown improvements. One commissioner noted the TIF chair recused from a larger potential request due to a conflict of interest and that the board favored this scope of funding.
Commissioner Terry moved the approval and Commissioner Miller seconded. The roll-call vote recorded aye votes from Commissioners Bueller, Day, Hewitt, Rooks, Robertson, Spica and Terry; Resolution 4192 passed.
