North Brookfield selectmen approve sending Blakehouse Brewing’s alcohol-license transfer to the state

The North Brookfield Board of Selectmen voted at a brief hearing to approve the town’s portion of an alcohol-license transfer for Blakehouse Brewing and to forward the application to the state for its final approval.

The move advances the brewery’s license transfer process by completing the local sign-off the board can provide. The applicants, who identified themselves for the record, said they had no local opposition and thanked the board.

An unidentified Selectman told the applicants, “we have all your paperwork here, and it's all been looked over by our administrative assistant. And it's all in order.” The Selectman said the board would check for anyone who objected and then “send it to the state, and then it's in the state's hands to, like, to approve, the transfers.”

Jonathan Demers of Blakehouse Brewing said, “I would just like to say thank you, and we appreciate you. And we're very excited and, appreciate, the process. And we're looking forward to bringing something awesome to the community.” Ruby Comparing, also with Blakehouse Brewing, identified herself when asked to state names and the establishment.

The Selectmen solicited any opposition; none was raised. A motion to approve the transfers and forward the paperwork to the state was moved and seconded, and the board called the vote. The board recorded verbal “Aye” responses when the chair called for a vote.

After the vote the Selectman wished the applicants luck with the state process and moved to adjourn. The board adjourned shortly afterward.
