At the CVTA meeting on June 6, 2025, outreach staff from PlanRVA presented an update on the authority’s LinkedIn presence and a content strategy intended to grow public awareness and engagement. The presenter described a December‑started plan to publish 4–5 posts per month on a rotating schedule of content types, and said that frequency and use of video drove measurable increases in engagement metrics.
According to the presentation, the CVTA LinkedIn account gained several followers and reached about 242 followers at the time the data were pulled. Monthly posting frequency increased from roughly 5 posts to about 25 posts across the recent reporting period. The presenter reported nearly 4,000 impressions in the most recent period and a 638% increase in impressions compared with the prior quarter. The reported engagement rate on the account was 12.15%, which the presenter noted is above typical LinkedIn industry averages (which she cited as about 3–6% or an industry number of 3.6% on one slide).
The presenter, introduced as a PlanRVA outreach staff member, said the LinkedIn audience is weighted toward Greater Richmond and professional industries (civil engineers, government administration, nonprofits, higher education) and that the CVTA page’s content strategy emphasizes project spotlights, educational posts about the authority’s role, and website features. She asked board members who are active on LinkedIn to follow and reshare posts to broaden reach; she also offered to provide additional data on request.
Chair Davis and other members thanked the presenter for the work; Parsons and others noted use of short video posts in recent outreach. The presenter said the work has been organic (no paid promotion) and that metrics indicate the account is attracting an engaged professional audience rather than passive followers.
Ending: Staff asked members to reshare and follow where appropriate; staff said they will continue the content rotation, report updated metrics at future meetings, and make project spotlight content available for board review before posting.
