Finance committee approves posting for new county finance director role

The LaSalle County Finance and TIF Committee approved a job description and authorized county staff to advertise a new finance director position at the July 8 meeting.
Committee members reviewed a draft description that would establish a centralized finance function. Members agreed to raise the advertised maximum salary to $125,000 to widen the candidate pool; the committee's vote to advertise included that revision. The description covers revenue projections, grant awareness, rolling 12-month forecasting and supervision duties in the event the office expands beyond a single employee.
Committee chair Tina Bush requested copies be signed and distributed for posting; Craig Emmett moved to advertise the position and the committee approved the motion. "Motion by Craig, second by Bridal. All in favor? Aye. Opposed? Motion carried," the clerk recorded.
The job posting will be distributed after staff incorporates two agreed edits: the revised top-end salary and minor wording changes in responsibilities. The committee instructed staff to begin outreach once the posting is finalized.
