Paulding County DOT recommends $54,877 contract for sidewalks, curb ramps in Posts 1 and 4

Paulding County Department of Transportation and Stormwater staff recommended awarding a FY2026 concrete contract (Contract 1) to the lowest reliable bidder, CSTE Inc., in the amount of $54,877 to perform sidewalks, curb ramps and drainage structure repairs in several unincorporated subdivisions in Posts 1 and 4.
Staff told the board that Paulding County maintains concrete sidewalks and curb ramps on county‑owned streets and that curb, gutter, catch basins and drop inlets are maintained by the stormwater department. The project list prepared by staff focuses on sidewalks, curb ramps, curb and gutter and catch basins. Staff said the work helps ensure pedestrian access and safety and assists the county in satisfying Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act, which requires access to pedestrian routes in the public right of way.
"Installation and maintenance and repair of sidewalks and curb ramps is important for pedestrian access and safety satisfying Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act," George Jones said. Jones told the board four bids were received on May 28, 2025, and DOT and Stormwater recommend award to the lowest reliable bidder.
Funding for the recommended award would be allocated from the DOT general funds and stormwater general funds; the transcript shows staff recommendation and discussion but does not record a formal motion or vote to award the contract during the session.
Next steps: staff will proceed with the county's procurement processes if the board moves to approve the award at a later meeting or during consent actions.
