Tracy, a central services staff member, presented June 2025 activity and cost figures to the LaSalle County IT and Central Services Committee on July 7, including microfilm, scanning and printing statistics and several cost and savings line items.
Tracy reported 45,750 microfilm documents, 1,040 processed feet of microfilm, 70,834 scanned images, and activity across copy and digital printers (18 copy machines registering 56,350 impressions and three digital printers with 152,505 impressions). She listed monthly bills at $29,065.91 and reimbursements to the general fund of $3,882.35. Central services postage for the period was $5,392.81; downtown circuit clerk postage was $1,562.27; county clerk postage $3.45; and regional office of education postage $183.02. She also reported eCertified mail savings of $187.96 and shipping label savings of $25.83, and said the department recorded a 4¢ meter postage savings totaling $236.32.
The presentation included toner figures: toner usage of $4,738.79 and toner purchased at $6,455.27, and Tracy said the total recorded savings for toner was $570.67. When asked about postage, Tracy said she believes the regular-mail rate will increase and said, "I think it's, 69¢ for regular mail now, so it's gonna be 73¢," noting she had not brought the official notice.
The committee approved Tracy's report and a motion to pay the bills. A committee member asked no substantive follow-up questions during the presentation.
Why it matters: central services handles printing, postage and document scanning for county offices; changes in postage rates and equipment costs affect operating budgets and reimbursements to the general fund.
The committee did not adopt any policy changes during the meeting; the action was a routine acceptance of the monthly report and approval to disburse funds for the reported bills.
