The Pewaukee Plan Commission voted to extend approvals for the Courtyard at Pewaukee senior living development to Sept. 19, 2026, after the applicant requested more time to finalize financing.
Planning staff told the commission the project is a previously approved senior living development and that the applicant is “continuing work on financing” and therefore asked to extend approvals to Sept. 19, 2026. The extension was proposed because the applicant is “running up against some expiration dates,” staff said.
Commissioners discussed the length of the extension. One commissioner asked whether the extension was a “hard” deadline; planning staff replied that if the applicant does not apply for a building permit by the specified date, staff would return to the plan commission to revert the zoning and notify the applicant when the item would be scheduled for discussion. A motion to approve the extension was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
No changes to the previously approved plans were presented with the extension request, and staff said the extension does not authorize alterations to approved site design or elevations. The plan commission did not place additional conditions on the extension beyond the permit-application deadline stated by staff.
If the applicant does not file for a building permit by Sept. 19, 2026, staff said the commission will be notified and the zoning could be reverted at a future meeting.
