The College Place Economic Development, Tourism and Events Commission voted July 7 to change its regular meeting schedule from monthly to quarterly and set the next regular meeting for Oct. 6, 2025.
Commissioners said the change is intended to conserve members' time while work is in a slower period; they also agreed emergency meetings can be called if an urgent issue arises.
During the July 7 meeting Chair Peck asked whether any items should be removed from the consent agenda and Miss Garcia introduced the proposal to reduce the commission’s regular cadence. Commissioners expressed general support for quarterly meetings unless pressing matters required more frequent gatherings. A motion to amend the meeting schedule was brought forward and approved; a commissioner identified later in the discussion confirmed the second was by Commissioner Doug Case. All commissioners present voted in favor and the motion passed.
Commissioners emphasized the option to reconvene on short notice if a time-sensitive issue emerges. The commission will continue to perform its fall duties, including review of the capital facilities plan and other standard fall actions, under the new cadence.
The commission adjourned at about 5:18 p.m. and noted that, barring any emergency meetings, the next regular meeting is scheduled for Oct. 6, 2025.
