Public Works Director Jeremy Parsons told the board that the project’s engineer had been working with the Missouri Department of Transportation on traffic and intersection comments; Parsons said MoDOT’s major comments on signals and intersections were satisfied and only minor sidewalk-grade comments remained.
Parsons said engineers hoped to resolve the remaining sidewalk-grade items within the week. He described the delay as routine plan-review work with MoDOT and noted MoDOT’s review timelines can extend the schedule even for minor adjustments.
Alderman Ben Boyd asked whether the pause would delay other tenants. Parsons said Aldi had submitted full architectural plans that were approved; Aldi was awaiting final plat review and approval and was otherwise ready to go vertical. Parsons said the city continued to work with the developer and MoDOT and that the city would update council when further milestones were met.
No formal action was taken; council members requested staff follow up and provide updates to the board on construction milestones and any changes to tenant schedules.
