The apparent low bidder was announced in the meeting record as "Gilotti Construction." Earlier in the readout the bid list included "Giladi Construction" at $591,204; the city said it will verify the bidder names and publish the certified results. Miles Fassett, purchasing manager for Ukiah City, told attendees, "I'll be working on trying to get this out this afternoon. If it's not out this afternoon, I will have it out tomorrow morning."
Bids opened and their amounts as read into the record were: Giladi/Gilotti Construction $591,204; JD General Engineering $595,500; Terracon Constructors $597,741; Valley Paving $702,166.60; Mars Engineering $685,002.50; Westpac Construction $751,645; Stempel Weebel House Associates $794,435; Granite $835,850; and Mercer Frasier Company $1,243,878. The transcript also shows a separate entry for "Mars Engineering" at $685,002.50.
The purchasing manager read subcontractor listings included on bid forms: Family Tree Service and Able Fence Company; Johnson's Quality Tree Care and WIF Construction; Terracon Construction; Cellcrete; Mountain F Enterprises; and Sequini and Passarino (spelled in the record later as "Cinquini and Passarino"). The record of subcontractors will also be verified as part of the bid-checking process.
No award or formal contract was made at the opening. The bid opening concluded with staff indicating the bid tabulation would be finalized and released publicly following review for compliance and completeness.
