Council adopts MOU with Warrensburg R-VI School District to fund school resource officers for 2025–26

The Warrensburg City Council adopted an ordinance authorizing the city manager and city clerk to execute a memorandum of understanding with the Warrensburg R-VI School District to fund the School Resource Officer (SRO) program for the 2025–26 school year.
Police Chief Andy Munsterman said the SRO program has existed for more than 25 years and that the city currently designates four officers for the program but has three officers assigned because one position remains vacant. Chief Munsterman said the only substantive change to the MOU is the amount the school district pays, which increased to reflect higher benefits and officer salaries.
Council moved the ordinance to second reading and adopted the MOU by roll-call vote; Kushner, Osborne, Latari, Jones and Euler recorded yes votes.
