The Kirkwood City Council adopted Bill 11080 on final reading on July 3, amending the municipal code’s floor-area-ratio (FAR) regulations in Chapter 25, Section 25-46.

During discussion a council member emphasized that the amendment does not change lot coverage and is separate from lot-coverage rules; that clarification was made in response to resident concerns about potential lot coverage impacts. The council then approved the amendment by roll-call vote with all members voting yes.

Staff characterized the change as a technical adjustment to the FAR provision in the zoning code; no changes to lot coverage standards were made with this ordinance.

The ordinance will be implemented by the city’s community development department in accordance with the adopted code language.
