Following an executive session warned under state statute section 313(a), the Winooski City Council voted on May 19 to approve a settlement agreement with MWG and authorized the city manager to sign the agreement as presented.
The council chair asked for a motion to approve the agreement “as presented and authorize the city manager to sign.” The motion was moved and seconded; council members voted in favor and the chair announced the motion carried.
The council did not discuss the settlement terms in open session. The executive session was warned as relating to contracts, pending or probable civil litigation or prosecution and confidential attorney–client communications, and the council’s public record of action is limited to the approval vote and authorization to execute the agreement.
