Doral marks Independence Day with concerts, family activities and a 25-minute fireworks show

The City of Doral presented a July 4 Independence Day celebration at Doral Central Park that combined live music, family activities and a fireworks finale.

Mayor (name not specified) opened remarks at the event, framing the evening as more than entertainment: “Tonight is more than fireworks and festivities,” the mayor said, urging the crowd to reflect on gratitude and service. The mayor described Doral as “a mosaic of cultures and backgrounds” and thanked veterans and first responders for their service.

Event organizers provided practical information to attendees throughout the evening. Announcements listed a 400-foot zip line priced at $10 per ride, face-painting and other family activities, and directed attendees to a trolley service running to overflow parking locations until 11:30 p.m. Staff announced that lights would be dimmed at 9:10 p.m. with the fireworks display beginning at 9:20 p.m., describing the fireworks program as a “jaw dropping 25 minute fireworks spectacular.”

Performances included sets from Orlando Mendez, Lucy Grau and the Miami Elite Band, and Sugar (also billed as Suga), among others; the national anthem was sung by Miguel Montgomery, identified by the host as a Doral resident. DJ Dennis and Infinity Sound Productions were credited for sound and lighting during the event.

Organizers closed the program with a reminder about transportation and safety: trolley service was reiterated as available until 11:30 p.m., and staff advised families to stay together when lights were turned off for the fireworks sequence.

The event combined patriotic remarks from city officials, performances from local and visiting artists, and vendor and sponsor booths positioned around the park. No formal votes or governmental actions took place during the celebration.
