City of Mission staff and residents gathered at the Mission Event Center July 4 for an Independence Day celebration that included music, rides and public remarks thanking attendees and honoring veterans.

Judith Garcia, identified herself as representing the City of Mission and welcomed the crowd, saying the event brought the community together and was "the perfect day to come together as 1 community and celebrate the spirit of Frito."
