Mr. McCarty, a district staff member, presented five contracts and asked the board for approval of several facilities and fiscal items at the June 5 meeting.
Regarding a bid for an access-control security project, McCarty said the administration was "requesting permission to proceed" and asked the board to approve the contract. A motion to approve the access-control bid was made and the board recorded affirmative voice responses.
McCarty also presented the annual school lunch pricing for the 2025–26 school year and asked for approval of the noncertified salary schedule; he said the noncertified rates are unchanged from 2024. The board approved these items by motion or consent.
On property and casualty insurance renewal, McCarty provided a current quote and warned that market changes have driven increases. He noted an approximately $80,000 difference between this year and next year and described drivers including higher replacement costs for property (including buses) and a higher payroll that affected the workers' compensation modification. McCarty said the district uses Travelers and IPEP for some coverages and that the workers' compensation modification moved from about 0.98 to a higher figure; he said staff would verify carrier details and that a special session in June could be called if needed. No formal roll-call tally was read on the record; the insurance renewal discussion included a request to limit approvals to a not-to-exceed amount pending final quotes.
Other administrative items approved or presented included adoption of the 2026 budget calendar and administrative contracts; the board also approved bid and contract items as presented.
