The motion, as read into the record, authorized continuation of the county portion of benefits for the employee during a general leave period covering June–July dates discussed in the packet (the motion referenced a leave from June 6 to July 11 and staff corrected the record during discussion). The motion was seconded and approved by the commissioners present.

Earlier in the meeting commissioners had tabled the item to allow fuller discussion; after returning from a brief nonpublic session they moved the matter back to the floor and adopted the requested benefit continuation as recommended by human resources and the senior director.

The board’s vote extended benefit continuation pending the agreed dates; staff indicated any administrative corrections (for exact effective dates) would be handled by human resources.
