An alternative vendor provided quotes for lights ($170,863) and poles ($81,777), a package the director said would come with shorter warranties (one year on poles; five years on lights) and would require more city staff work and risk for long-term maintenance.
Staff emphasized additional infrastructure costs that are not part of some vendor quotes: rewiring conduits, replacing or testing existing foundations and pulling new gauge wire that meets manufacturers— requirements. Public Works recommended Musco—s turnkey option when factoring warranty and long-term maintenance. Council asked for previous-installation references, solar compatibility, and a faster timetable; staff said it would obtain further competitor proposals (Bradford) and return at the next meeting with more detail.
