The Everett City Council unanimously confirmed three appointments to the Animal Shelter Advisory Board during the July 2 meeting.
Mayor Franklin asked the council for concurrence on three appointments: Skyler Haines to Position 2 (term expiring Dec. 31, 2028), Shell Graves to Position 3 (term expiring Dec. 31, 2027) and Megan Ward to Position 5 (term expiring Dec. 31, 2030). "I would ask for your concurrence with those appointments," the mayor said. "Move to approve those appointments," said Council member Ryan; a second was recorded but the speaker was not identified in the transcript. The clerk recorded unanimous "yes" votes from Vice President Zarlingo, Council member Fosse, Council member Bader, Council member Ryan, Council member Tuohy and President Schwab.
Council member Zarlingo thanked the appointees for stepping forward, noting some were recent Everett residents with relevant experience and expressing hope that the appointments would encourage broader community involvement.
The meeting record includes no discussion of candidates' qualifications beyond what councilors summarized on the dais, and no supplemental materials or interview results were presented during the meeting. The appointees' start dates were not specified at the council meeting; terms were listed by the mayor as expiring on the dates above.
