At its July 1 meeting the West Haven ARPA Committee approved several community-oriented items: payments for a community façade pressure washing project on Campbell Avenue, arts reimbursements, a deposit for a Mini Golf installation at Morris Park and invoices for shelter cleaning and supplies.

Why it matters: These approvals cover community revitalization, arts programming and temporary shelter operations. They represent smaller ARPA-funded or ARPA-administered community projects the committee is tracking.

The committee approved payment to KEPT Companies for pressure washing sidewalks on Campbell Avenue under the Community Facade Improvement Program, describing the work as in line with a council motion. The committee approved small arts-related reimbursements (the transcript records one reimbursement amount as $6.30 for flowers and arts funding) and approved a proposal to allow trash-barrel painting and other public-art activities under the arts budget.

The committee also approved a deposit to Splash Kings for a custom Mini Golf installation at Morris Park; the deposit was approved because the vendor must custom order items. Committee members asked about insurance; the chair said the vendor would have insurance. The committee approved four small invoices from SMG Corporation for shelter cleaning supplies and related items presented as cleaning during a heat wave.

All motions were approved by voice vote. The chair said remaining boardwalk monitoring camera funds are being handled by Mr. Fontana and will be reviewed as invoices come in.
