At the June 11 facilities meeting, trustees said phase‑1 packing coordination is underway for William O'Shaffer and Cottage Lane and phase‑2 packing is scheduled at the high school to prepare rooms for summer work. The report noted the high school nurse suite ADA restroom is included in the 2025–26 budget and that, per a board resolution on June 4, the superintendent is authorized to approve the related change order once a final price is determined.
On the high school auditorium, the facilities report said a bid opening yielded qualified low bidders and the committee recommended replacements and upgrades: aisle lighting “close to 100 ks,” riser tread replacement at “20 ks,” and additional theatrical fixtures at “85” (figures reported in the meeting as presented by the facilities representative). The committee agreed to forward formal recommendations to the board for consideration at the July 8 meeting.
Trustees also discussed capital transfers for the 2025–26 budget and scheduled TZ (Tappan Zee) school store casework and William O'Shaffer casework for summer 2027. One trustee urged the district to pursue an additional multipurpose field to address limited field access for teams; trustees said designs have been discussed with architects but acknowledged a new field would likely require a bond and careful fiscal planning because of projected financial constraints.
No final construction contracts were approved at the meeting; the facilities committee will present formal recommendations and contractor references to the board at the next meeting. The superintendent’s authorization to finalize a change order is contingent on final prices and consistent with the June 4 board resolution.
Trustees emphasized balancing facility needs with fiscal restraint and said they will pursue bids, pricing and formal recommendations in July.
