Three Village Board appoints Vincent Bizzo to fill vacant seat

The appointment came after the board reviewed three legally permitted options — leave the seat vacant, hold a special election or appoint someone — and chose to appoint a former, elected board member. “Now, therefore, be it resolved, the Board of Education hereby appoints Vincent Bizzo to the aforesaid vacancy and authorizes the oath of office to be administered to said individual effective immediately and said board member shall serve until the next regular school district election, which is May nineteenth of 2026,” the resolution read.
The board voted to approve the resolution by voice vote; there were no recorded nay votes or abstentions. Following the vote, the district clerk administered the oath and Bizzo signed the oath paperwork.
