Council appoints Swan Jacobson to Sustainability Commission; Holly Paulke joins Arts Commission

By resolution the council appointed Swan Jacobson to the Sustainability Commission. Jacobson, 24, described a background in school sustainability projects and said they would prioritize school support and local transit options if appointed. The council’s resolution was moved and seconded and the motion carried by voice vote.
The council also appointed Holly Paulke to the Arts Commission after a Zoom interview. Paulke, who chairs a ceramics program at Mead Elementary and has worked with local PTAs and youth art programs, told council she would focus on making art accessible, expanding public art and deepening community engagement with artists and schools. That appointment was adopted by resolution and approved by voice vote.
Other applicants for the Sustainability Commission who interviewed included Stefan Scheepers, Pranav Srivastava, Camaree Harper and Angela Rivera (absent for interview); the council and staff thanked all applicants and encouraged re‑application when future vacancies arise.
The appointments were adopted by resolution (listed in the meeting packet as R2025‑11‑12 for the Sustainability Commission appointment and R2025‑11‑11 for the Arts Commission appointment) and are recorded in the meeting minutes.
