At a July 1 reorganizational meeting at the district office, the South Colonie Central School District Board of Education administered oaths to board officers, elected its president and vice president, adopted the 2025–26 meeting schedule and approved a series of appointments and resolutions by unanimous votes.
The board administered the oath of office at the start of the meeting and then took nominations and votes for officers. A motion to appoint the board president was made and carried by an 8–0 vote; the president then was administered the oath of that office. A motion to appoint the vice president also carried 8–0.
The board adopted the regular 2025–26 meeting schedule, which calls for meetings on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. at the district office, with some summer meetings at 6 p.m. and exceptions to avoid conflicts with religious holy days and state or national conferences. The motion to adopt the schedule passed 8–0.
Superintendent Dr. Carey presented recommended appointments and the board approved the slate (items noted A–E on the consent list) by motion, 8–0. The superintendent also presented a group of resolutions (items A–K on the resolutions list); the board approved those resolutions, 8–0. The board voted 8–0 to adopt the recommended authorizations listed later in the agenda.
The reorganizational meeting adjourned after routine business; the board then opened its regular July meeting.
