Holdridge Chamber seeks $15,000 in city funding for promotion, childcare and events

She described a local “spark” gift-card program that keeps consumer spending in the local economy and said the chamber helps with ribbon-cuttings, celebrations and business support.
Larson said the chamber had requested $15,000 for the last three years but typically received $10,000; she asked the council to consider the full request, describing the work as essential to promoting Holdridge’s economy and community events.
A councilmember responded that the city’s decision would depend on the overall budget, saying the request would be considered as budget permits and thanking Larson for the chamber’s work. The council did not take a formal vote on the request during the meeting; staff will review the budget and the chamber’s request during the normal budget process.
