The Sweetwater County Board of County Commissioners approved a time‑only change order July 1 that extends the Sweetwater County Detention Center rooftop unit (RTU) and air‑handler replacement project because of long equipment lead times.
Public Works Director Jean Legurski reported the RTUs and curbs required for rooftop installation experienced substantial procurement delays. “We ordered these back in February. They were supposed to be in in 2 to 3 months. We've gotten them in 5,” Legurski said. Air‑handling units still lacked confirmed delivery dates, she added.
