Student representatives report sports results, upcoming school events and teacher award

A student representative for Absegami High School told the Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District board about recent athletics results, a district Champions Day for special-needs students and several upcoming school events.
"I'm gonna get the, athletics out of the way since that's shortened now," the Absegami student representative said, reporting that boys volleyball had advanced to the second round of the Cape-Atlantic League (CAL) tournament, boys lacrosse concluded its season and softball had one game remaining.
The student rep said May 16 hosted a Greater Egg Harbor Champions Day at Absegami that included track events and a kickball game, and gave a shout-out to staff member Cass Welch for organizing the event. The representative listed upcoming dates: a field day on May 23, an FBLA community blood drive on May 29 in the senior cafeteria, and prom on May 30 at the Sheraton Atlantic City. The student rep also announced the Dennis Foreman Teacher of the Year award went to Christian Dennis.
A Cedar Creek student representative reported that Cedar Creek's girls' team won the conference championship, a freshman won the CAL tennis tournament, and boys' golf set a new record. These were delivered as student reports during the board's student-report section; the board did not take formal action in response to the updates.
