Pendleton, representing the Sweetwater Events Complex, invited county officials and the public to attend the National High School Rodeo (July 13–20) and Wyoming’s Big Show (July 28–Aug. 2) and asked for volunteers. “We definitely still need volunteer slots filled... you can do that on the website, sweetwaterevents.com,” she said.

Resident Josiah Abraham told commissioners he found gates closed at the Boar’s Test Campground and other amenities during race weekends last year and said the closures had prevented use of camping spots, causing lost income for local campers. “We have no access to the fishing ponds, to the campground... they had it closed for the whole week last year because of the rodeo,” Abraham said. He asked whether the gate could be kept open for the July 4 holiday this year.
Commissioner West and other commissioners noted recent improvements. “They have... installed a bunch of different gates to kinda limit that access so they don't have to shut off the entire complex,” West said, and offered to follow up with Candy Pendleton. Commissioners encouraged the resident to exchange contact information with events staff so the complex and county could discuss specific scheduling and rental options.
