Hopewell Valley board elects Anita Williams Galliano president; Jacqueline Genovese named vice president

Colavita reported results from the Nov. 5, 2024 election: Jacqueline Genovese and Dhruv Kapadia won three-year Hopewell Township seats; John Slotman won a two-year unexpired term; Amanda Staliano won a one-year unexpired term as the highest write-in; and incumbent Alex Resnick won a three-year seat in Pennington Borough.
With a quorum present, the board opened nominations for president. A board member nominated Anita Williams Galliano; no other nominations were made and the board conducted a vote. The chair declared Galliano elected and "welcome back as president." After Galliano took the gavel, the board opened nominations for vice president, nominated Jacqueline Genovese and approved her by voice vote.
The board approved an amended consent agenda that included updates to ad hoc committees and placeholders for possible future reactivation of committees. Members discussed a question about whether a listed committee was active and agreed to amend the committee list before approval. The amended consent agenda passed by voice vote.
The board also announced district calendar and outreach items: Colavita said he will deliver referendum budget talks to parent-teacher organizations over the next weeks and noted a building tour and meeting scheduled for Jan. 27 at Bear Tavern Elementary School, beginning at 5:30 p.m. with a facilities tour before the meeting.
Public comment periods were opened and closed with no speakers. The board adjourned following the second public comment period.
