District leaders told the Williamsville Central School District Board on July 1 that, midway through the district’s current five‑year strategic plan, most goal activities remain rated at “proficient” and that planning will begin in January 2026 for the next five‑year cycle.
Superintendent Dr. Darren Brownhall said the district is in year 4 of a five‑year strategic plan and will form new strategic‑plan teams beginning January 2026 to develop a plan for 2027–2032. He highlighted progress in communication, wellness and belonging, responsive instructional practices, and diversity, equity and inclusion. Examples cited included expanded two‑way communications on major items (distraction-free school zones and construction projects) and building‑level DEI Google Classrooms used as staff resources.
District staff also presented the 2025–26 professional learning plan. The plan lists district-supported professional learning strategies, hours, and opportunities for staff to earn Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE) credits; one line in the packet notes the plan includes up to 35 CTLE hours in the school year. The district said a conference‑style professional learning day will remain part of the calendar and that the Office of Professional Learning will document available courses, hours and CTLE credit eligibility.
Board members asked whether CTLE hours include staff development days and how new teachers will access credits. District staff replied that staff development and district-provided opportunities are included in the CTLE offerings and that the plan provides multiple, ongoing professional learning options.
